Rettifiche Resca

THE COMPANY

1973

FOUNDATION

Rettifiche Resca is a team made of people highly skilled in precision mechanical engineering who apply data analysis and professional skills throughout the production process. Rettifiche Resca srl was founded by Guido Resca in 1973. Originally named “Guido Resca s.n.c.”, it started out as a grinding shop for internal and external gears. The company grew over the years and became established in the Bologna area. To meet the needs of the market for speed reducers, the company added worm gear grinding to its portfolio.

1990

GROWTH

Thanks to its founder’s intuition, this new business opened up new opportunities for the company in a number of sectors that were to become key strategic applications for the company’s future, such as worm gears for winches, automatic gates, screw compressors (rotors for compressed air), trapezoidal worm gears, and lastly variable pitch worm gears for the automotive industry, which were to become the main driver for the move to unmanned automatic manufacturing systems as early as in 1990.

1996

EVOLUTION

This great drive towards new technologies led the founder’s sons, Michele and Alessandro, to set up the gear grinding business in 1996, when a few SAMPUTENSILI machines were added to the lines.

2006

NEW PARTNERSHIP

After searching the market to find a type of machine that would bring yet another technological advancement to the company, the first KAPP 300 machine was purchased in 2006. That is how the partnership with KAPP GmbH began. This partnership enabled us to cater to the most demanding customers.

WHEEL DRESSING SERVICE

A wheel dressing machine was purchased to improve our flexibility. This way, we had dressed grinding wheels available in a snap with any module, number of starts and pressure angle. Eventually, we offered our customers a dressing service.

2014

MANUFACTURE OF FINISHED PRODUCTS

Looking at changing market demands, we realised that a growing number of customers were looking to purchase finished products rather than single jobbing processes. That is how a division dedicated to the manufacture of finished products to customer specifications was born in 2014.

2017

TESTING DEPARTMENT EXPANSION

The growing machine fleet and range of finished products made in-house, we decided on expanding the testing department by renovating all office spaces and adding a Zeiss 3D measuring system.

2018

PRODUCTIVITY MONITORING

As production and plants expanded, we decided on automating the monitoring of machine performance, as this would enable us to accurately analyse scattering, improve efficiency and try to further optimise the entire production process so as to offer our customers the best products at the best prices.

2019

PLANT EXPANSION

The steady growth of the company created the need for more space to store products, to accommodate new machinery and reorganise shop layout. This is why the new shed was built adjacent to the historical headquarters.
